This month’s World Cup features the participation of no less than 17 players from Barcelona, including eight from the Spanish national team.
However, Barcelona’s attention is on the next season, and the club is already making plans to add players in the upcoming January transfer window.
The club has been connected to a move for new midfielders and right-backs, but it looks that adding new forwards may also be on the table. The name of AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has been mentioned in the press.
An update on Barcelona’s pursuit of Leao was provided in a recent article by Toni Juanmarti, which implies the club has a favourable opinion of the Portuguese international.
A Laporta le encanta. Y el club maneja muy buenos informes… pero es verdad que en un 433 clásico cuesta verle un encaje natural. Jugadorazo, Leao. pic.twitter.com/wOoYJD0m1g

Joan Laporta is interested in signing Rafael Leao to replace Ousmane Dembele if he leaves or support him if he stays
And Leao has a big fan in Barça president Joan Laporta. The AC Milan front has developed into one of Portugal’s best strikers, therefore he has earned the club’s approval.
Leao has been an integral member of Milan’s offensive squad, especially after his transfer there. During his tenure at San Siro, he scored 34 goals and added 30 assists, and he was instrumental in the Rossoneri winning Serie A last year.
Will the Blaugranas be able to sign Leao in the transfer window?
It seems that Barcelona is one among the several teams keeping an eye on the Portuguese international Leao.
From a sports standpoint, Leao signing with Barcelona next summer may be a great long-term investment. The attacker can contribute in terms of output and is adaptable enough to play in a variety of positions.
A youthful striker like Rafael Leao would be a good addition to the club’s offensive department since Ousmane Dembele’s future at the club is unknown and Robert Lewandowski is not getting any younger.
