Barcelona Transfer News: Many fans at FC Barcelona cheer for Bernardo Silva. For almost a year, the La Liga champions have tried to capture the Manchester City superstar. But their lack of funds has prevented them from doing so. Barça still has Silva on their radar as the summer transfer window of 2023 approaches, despite the extreme unlikelihood of a deal happening owing to the club’s Financial Fair Play condition.
However, 90 Min reports that Manchester City will not obstruct the Portuguese international’s exit this summer. In that event, though, they will want a transfer price of roughly £75 million in exchange for Silva’s services. Since joining the Premier League winners in 2017 from AS Monaco, the 28-year-old has been a key contributor. Silva, a key cog in Pep Guardiola’s machine, is said to be eager for a change of scenery.

The midfielder’s availability to sign with Barcelona has been consistent since at least the previous summer. The Catalans wanted to sweep in, but they lacked the resources to do so. Now, things are pretty much the same. Barça still hopes to sign Silva. The player wants to move to Catalonia as well, despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Blaugrana may never be able to raise that £75 million, though. The signings of Ilkay Gundogan and Lionel Messi, are both high priorities. Given their current situation with Financial Fair Play, they would need to make several high-profile sales to afford Silva.
As a result, the report continues, the midfielder may not fight for an escape from the Etihad. He may even sign a new deal if Barcelona and Manchester City are unable to negotiate terms.
