The Barcelona players who might have played their final game at Camp Nou in the 3-3 friendly against Manchester City

All three of Barcelona’s goal scorers against Manchester City in a friendly on Wednesday night could leave the team in the next eight days.

On Wednesday night, City came to the Nou Camp to play a friendly against Barcelona. It might have seemed strange to have a friendly so soon into the season.

At least it was for a good cause, as the two clubs were trying to raise money for an ALS charity in support of former Barcelona goalkeeper and coach Juan Carlos Unzue.

For Barcelona, it was good to get Ansu Fati, who was still recovering from an injury, and Jules Kounde, who had not yet joined the league, some good playing time.

It might have also given some players a chance to say goodbye to their fans since Xavi is still trying to get rid of some stars he doesn’t want on his team.

The only traditional way for the transfer window to close is on September 1. So they have just over a week to get rid of any player.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Frenkie de Jong, and Memphis Depay could all be on their way out very soon. It was funny that they were the ones who scored the goals in the 3-3 tie.

Aubameyang is expected to move to Chelsea just seven months after leaving the Premier League for La Liga. He scored the first goal for the home team after Julian Alvarez put the visitors ahead, which made Blues fans happy.

Next, it was De Jong’s turn to put his team ahead for the first time on the night. The midfielder scored thanks to a rare bad pass from Kevin de Bruyne.

The Dutchman has been the subject of the most intense transfer rumours, not just for Barcelona, but for all of football, and maybe even ever.

He still wants to stay with the Catalan giants, even though they owe him about £17 million, and even though Manchester United, Chelsea, and maybe even Bayern Munich are interested.

The friendly was tied at 3-3

Cole Palmer then tied it up at 2-2 in the 70th minute. But it was only for 10 minutes before Depay, who had come on as a substitute, scored another ironic goal.

Sergi Roberto’s cross looked like it was right out of City’s playbook, and the former United forward got on the end of it.

Depay is also likely to move this summer. The most likely place for him to go is Juventus. But, as usual, a return to Old Trafford has also been talked about.

It was a good way for the three players to say goodbye to the Nou Camp, their teammates, and the fans, but they didn’t win.

Erling Haaland was given a very soft penalty late in extra time. Riyad Mahrez scored from the spot to make sure the game ended tied.
