It has been rumoured that the Brazilian offensive dynamo Vitor Roque would cost Barcelona and Real Madrid $100 million to sign
Spanish news site Fichajes claims to have learned how much Barcelona and Real Madrid will have to spend to recruit Vitor Roque. To get rid of the Brazilian scoring superstar, Athletico Paranaense wants $100 million.
From his early success in Brazilian youth football, Vitor Roque has gone from strength to strength. The teen’s early years were split between Atletico Mineiro and Cruzeiro. But since signing for Athletico Paranaense earlier this year, he has built a name for himself.
In 51 games played in 2022, the Brazilian offensive phenom scored 14 goals and sent out five assists. This is enough for a goal per 180 minutes. For a young player, that’s an impressive production. It should come as no surprise that the Blaugrana and Real Madrid have taken notice of Vitor Roque’s development.
Who will get him- Barcelona or Real Madrid?
It is well-known that Brazil has supplied several football superstars to both the Catalan club and Real Madrid. Several players from the nation have made an impact on the two major La Liga teams, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively. Neymar and Ronaldinho at FC Barcelona and Vinicius Junior and Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
The interest shown in Vitor Roque by Barcelona and Real Madrid is, therefore, not unexpected. Even if an agreement to sign Endrick has been struck, Real Madrid’s persistent interest is fascinating. However, the addition of Vitor Roque to the offence might prove to be a major boost.
What’s next?
Since Robert Lewandowski is well into his thirties, Barcelona needs to add a new striker to their roster. And it seems like Barcelona may be able to sign Vitor Roque. Because of his young age, the Brazilian offensive wonder may learn from Lewandowski before perhaps taking over as the team’s starting striker. However, Barcelona will have trouble affording his $100 million price tag.
The Catalan giants are still struggling financially and are not expected to be able to spend $100 million on a single player. But if Real Madrid is willing to pay the steep release clause after signing Endrick remains to be seen. It’ll be fascinating to follow Vitor Roque’s career as he travels across Europe.
