Romano explains that Xavi, the coach of Barça, thinks of him as “untouchable,” much like some of the current starting defenders like Ronald Araujo. The Catalans look to be making every effort to avoid selling Dembele for under €50 million this summer. There should be no lack of suitors for the forward, given his achievements and age profile.
While Barcelona will do everything in its power to keep Dembele, the fates of the team’s other attacking players are less guaranteed. As part of the club’s strategy to bring in new revenue, names like Raphinha and Ferran Torres have been linked with a transfer away from Camp Nou. Dembele’s destiny next season may rest in large part on the careers of these other players.
